A Note on Showing Up Anyway
Why perfection quietly pulls us into silence
Good Morning Sunshines,
I want to name something that crept up on me this week.
I went quiet (again) on social media because I started worrying about how things looked instead of why I was sharing in the first place, to build a community of like-minded people on a transformational journey.
It’s an old pattern. One I thought I had mostly outgrown.
Somewhere along the way, “waiting until it’s prettier, I’m thinner, my clothes are on trend” starts to sound responsible. Polished. Professional. But if I’m being honest, it’s usually just my fear dressed up as standards.
And here’s the truth. You didn’t find me because everything looked perfect. You found me because something felt real. Because life got disrupted. Because rebuilding doesn’t come with a filter.
I know this because I’ve lived it. Illness does not arrive neatly packaged. Healing does not wait for good lighting. Growth rarely looks Instagram ready while it’s happening.
I’m choosing to show up anyway. Not because aesthetics don’t matter, they do. But because substance matters more. And because waiting until everything looks finished is a great way to stay silent.
If you’ve ever paused your own voice because you didn’t feel put together enough, consider this your permission slip to speak anyway.
Progress over performance.
Clarity over polish. Real life, in motion.
I’m here. Still learning. Still rebuilding. Still sharing as I go.
Xx,
Indie
