I used to think there would be a moment when everything lined up: the right time, the clear signal, all the pieces in place before I moved. There wasn’t one, and there never is. Life doesn’t ask you if you’re ready before it throws something at you: a diagnosis, a phone call you didn’t see coming, a surgery.
I know this because I’m a planner by nature. I was a CPA before I was an entrepreneur. I like columns that add up and results I can check. There’s safety in it. None of that protected me from any of it.
What I’ve learned from living through some of the most difficult life challenges more than once, is that the moment doesn’t test whether you saw it coming; it tests what you do next. Having faith that how you handle it is how you keep rising, that’s the whole trick. Clarity doesn’t come before the chaos clears. It comes from moving through it anyway before you know how the story ends.
Six months ago, I walked onto a TEDx stage and shared this so that someone else in the middle of their own chaos might find a way forward or start to see their hardest moments as happening for them, not to them. The full talk is live now, and I’d love for you to watch it.
For those in the thick of it, have faith in yourself, the best is yet to come…

Indie
PS: You better believe I use AI for spelling and grammar check. Trust me it’s better that way. ;)
