Finding My Voice, Again
A reflection on shrinking, surviving, and finally stepping forward.
There was a time when I had finally found my voice, when stepping into "Indie Lee" felt like stepping fully into myself. But somewhere along the way, after building what I had poured so much of myself into, I started to shrink again. I adjusted, molded, and retreated to fit into what was expected of me.
And here is what I have learned: silence is not neutral. It takes a toll.
When we do not allow ourselves to be authentic, our bodies keep the score. The stress of swallowing words shows up in ways we do not expect: in exhaustion, in tension, in illness.
For me, the years of staying small coincided with the hardest health battles of my life. I cannot help but see the connection now.
Because voice is vitality.
Expression is energy.
And authenticity is medicine.
This is why becoming again matters so much to me now. It is not just about rediscovering who I am. It is about healing. About choosing not to fracture myself into the quiet, acceptable version others might prefer, but to live fully as I am.
The Indie Edits is where I will practice this. Where I will write about the tiny, radical ways we reclaim our health by reclaiming our voices through wellness, clean living, longevity, and truth-telling.
Because health is not just kale and supplements. It is wholeness. And wholeness starts with honesty.
So if you have been walking with me here already, thank you. And if you are just finding me now, welcome. We are in this together. Here is to creating a life of wellthâ„¢.
XO, Indie
