You Might Not Think Anyone Notices
Over the years, I’ve shared pieces of my life, my autoimmune struggles, my brain surgeries, moments that felt personal and sometimes uncomfortable to put out into the world.
I never really thought much about where those posts went once I shared them.
This past weekend changed that.
After I spoke openly, my messages filled up. Not just from people who follow closely now, but from people I met once years ago. Someone I met in Australia. Someone from Singapore. Old friends. Quiet connections I hadn’t been in touch with in a long time.
What struck me wasn’t just the kindness (although holy crap I am still so humbled). It was the realization that people had been watching quietly, carrying pieces of those moments with them, even when I had no idea.
It made me think about how often we assume that if we can’t see engagement or feedback in real time, nothing is landing. That growth only counts if it’s immediately visible.
But community doesn’t always behave that way.
Sometimes it’s built slowly. Over years. Through consistency, honesty, and presence. Sometimes people don’t speak until something resonates deeply enough to bring them forward.
I’m sharing this because I think many of us stop too soon. We pull back because it feels quiet. We assume we’re talking into the void.
You might not be.
There may be more people paying attention than you realize. Not in a loud way. In a human one.
So if you’ve been showing up honestly and wondering whether it matters, this is your reminder to keep going. Impact isn’t always immediate. Community isn’t always visible. But it’s often there, steady and watching, long before it ever speaks.
